Moderaterna

Moderaterna, officially Moderata samlingspartiet and commonly known as the Moderate Party, is a centre-right liberal-conservative political party in Sweden. It is one of the country’s largest political parties and has influenced Swedish politics since the early 20th century. The party traces its roots to 1904, when it was founded as Allmänna valmansförbundet; over the decades it underwent several name changes before adopting the Moderaterna designation. Ideologically, Moderaterna advocates a market-based economy, lower taxes, deregulation where appropriate, and reforms aimed at making welfare services more efficient. It supports private sector involvement in public services, a robust legal system, and Swedish EU membership.
