Mngxitama
Mngxitama, also known as the "Mngxitama Rebellion" or "Mngxitama Uprising," was a significant armed resistance movement that took place in the late 19th century in what is now the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The rebellion was led by a chief named Mngxitama, whose name translates to "the one who is not afraid" in the Xhosa language. The uprising occurred during a period of intense colonial pressure and land dispossession by British settlers and the emerging South African Republic (Transvaal).
