Miðsumar
Miðsumar is the Icelandic word for Midsummer, a celebration that typically falls around the summer solstice. While not as widely observed or commercialized as in some other Nordic countries, it holds a traditional significance in Iceland, marking the longest day of the year and the peak of summer. Historically, Midsummer was associated with magical properties and folklore, a time when the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds was believed to be thin. Bonfires were often lit, symbolizing the sun's power and warding off evil spirits.
In contemporary Iceland, Miðsumar is generally a quieter affair. Some communities may organize small local events
