Miðaldabókmenntir refers to the body of literature produced in Iceland during the medieval period, generally considered to span from the settlement of Iceland around 874 CE to the Reformation in the 16th century. This era witnessed a rich and distinctive literary tradition, primarily preserved in manuscripts written in Old Norse.
