Mitte-sümmeetrilisi refers to objects or structures that lack symmetry. In geometry, symmetry implies that an object can be transformed (e.g., rotated, reflected, or translated) and remain unchanged. Therefore, a non-symmetrical object, or asümmeetriline object, will appear different after such a transformation.

This concept applies across various fields. In mathematics, a matrix is considered non-symmetrical if it is not equal to its transpose. In design and art, non-symmetrical arrangements can create a sense of dynamism, tension, or naturalism, as opposed to the balance and order often associated with symmetry. For example, a landscape painting might be intentionally composed to be non-symmetrical to evoke a feeling of spontaneity.

In biology, while many organisms exhibit bilateral symmetry (like humans) or radial symmetry (like starfish), others display asymmetry. Examples include certain single-celled organisms or specific organs within an animal's body. The shape of a seashell can also be non-symmetrical. The absence of symmetry can be a result of developmental processes, environmental pressures, or simply inherent biological variation. Understanding non-symmetrical properties is crucial for analyzing the form and function of various natural and artificial objects.
