Mittaustyörät

Mittaustyörät, a Finnish term, translates to "measurement wheels" or "measuring wheels" in English. These are specialized tools designed for accurately measuring distances over the ground. They typically consist of a wheel of a known circumference attached to a handle and a mechanism for counting the rotations of the wheel. As the user walks, the wheel rolls along the surface, and the internal counter, often mechanical or digital, records the distance covered.

The primary advantage of a measuring wheel is its ability to measure long distances quickly and with relative ease compared to a tape measure. They are particularly useful for outdoor applications such as surveying, construction, landscaping, and road maintenance. Different types of measuring wheels are available, varying in size, wheel diameter, and the type of counter. Some models are designed for rough terrain, while others are more suited for smooth surfaces.

The accuracy of a measuring wheel depends on several factors, including the quality of the device, the surface being measured, and the user's technique.
