Minipillereissä
Minipillerit, also known as progestogen-only pills (POPs), are a type of oral contraceptive containing only a progestogen hormone, unlike combined oral contraceptive pills which contain both estrogen and progestogen. They are taken daily at the same time. Minipillereissä work primarily by thickening the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to reach the uterus, and secondarily by suppressing ovulation in some women. Their effectiveness is comparable to combined pills when used correctly, with a typical failure rate of about 9%.
