MiniatyyriLEDtaustavalo, often shortened to Mini LED, refers to a type of backlight technology used in displays such as televisions and computer monitors. It represents an advancement over traditional LED backlights by utilizing significantly smaller light-emitting diodes. These smaller LEDs allow for a much greater number of dimming zones within the display. This granular control over illumination enables Mini LED displays to achieve higher contrast ratios and deeper blacks, as specific sections of the screen can be dimmed or turned off independently. Consequently, Mini LED technology can produce brighter highlights and more vibrant colors, leading to an overall improved viewing experience, especially in content with high dynamic range.
