Mikrobityyppejä

Mikrobityyppejä is a Finnish term that translates to "types of microbes" or "microbial types." This classification refers to the broad categories into which microorganisms are grouped based on their characteristics, such as structure, function, and genetic makeup. The primary types of microbes include bacteria, archaea, fungi, protists, and viruses.

Bacteria are single-celled prokaryotic organisms found in virtually every habitat on Earth. They play crucial roles in nutrient cycling, decomposition, and symbiotic relationships. Archaea are also single-celled prokaryotes, often found in extreme environments, and share some characteristics with bacteria but are genetically distinct.

Fungi are eukaryotic organisms that can be unicellular (like yeasts) or multicellular (like molds and mushrooms). They are heterotrophic, obtaining nutrients by absorption, and are important decomposers and pathogens.
