Midors

Midors are a fictional species native to the planet Xylos. They are characterized by their bioluminescent skin, which emits a soft, pulsating glow in varying shades of blue and green. This bioluminescence serves multiple purposes, including communication, navigation in their dimly lit environment, and attracting mates. Midors possess a generally slender build with long limbs and digitigrade feet, allowing for agile movement. Their heads are somewhat elongated, featuring large, dark eyes that are highly sensitive to light, and a pair of delicate, feathery antennae that are used for sensing vibrations and chemical cues in the air.

The Xylosian ecosystem is rich with unique flora and fauna, and midors have adapted to thrive within it. They are primarily herbivorous, subsisting on a diet of nutrient-rich Xylosian fungi and luminous mosses. Their social structure is communal, with midors living in interconnected underground dwellings, often carved into the roots of massive, subterranean trees. These communities are matriarchal, with elder females guiding the group’s decisions. Midors reproduce through a process involving the exchange of bioluminescent spores, which are then nurtured in communal incubation chambers. Their lifespan is estimated to be around 150 Xylosian cycles, which are equivalent to approximately 200 Earth years. While generally peaceful, midors will defend their territory and young if threatened, utilizing their agility and a mild paralytic venom secreted from glands in their fingertips.
