Microtractors

Microtractors are a category of very small tractors designed for light-duty tasks. Typically, they are smaller and less powerful than subcompact tractors, making them suitable for residential use, small farms, and specialized applications. Their compact size allows them to maneuver easily in tight spaces, such as gardens, greenhouses, or between rows of crops.

The primary purpose of microtractors is to provide a more affordable and manageable alternative to larger agricultural machinery for those with limited acreage or specific needs. They are often used for tasks like mowing, tilling, light plowing, hauling small trailers, and powering attachments like snow blowers or aerators. Due to their size, they are generally not intended for heavy-duty agricultural work.

Microtractors often feature a two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive system and can be powered by gasoline or diesel engines. The horsepower range is typically quite low, often below 20 horsepower. Attachments are usually connected via a three-point hitch or a simpler drawbar system. Their simplicity and smaller size often translate to lower purchase prices and reduced maintenance costs compared to their larger counterparts, making them an attractive option for hobby farmers, landscapers, and homeowners with significant outdoor property.
