Microborders

Microborders, also known as micro-nations or micronations, are small, self-declared independent states that are not recognized by any other country. The concept of microborders emerged in the late 20th century, with the first known micronation being Sealand, established in 1967 by John Bain on a disused oil platform off the coast of the Isle of Man. Since then, thousands of microborders have been created, each with its own unique history, culture, and governance.

Microborders often have their own currencies, flags, constitutions, and even passports. Some microborders have even established diplomatic relations with other countries or microborders, although these relationships are generally not recognized by the international community. Despite their small size and lack of recognition, microborders can be an important symbol of individual freedom and self-determination, as well as a source of inspiration for those who wish to challenge the status quo. However, it is important to note that microborders are not legally recognized as independent states and are generally considered to be a form of art or a form of protest rather than a legitimate political entity.
