MicaGruppe
MicaGruppe may refer to the mica group in geology, a family of sheet silicate minerals known for their sheet-like crystal structure and perfect basal cleavage. Micas crystallize in monoclinic or hexagonal systems and form two-dimensional layers composed of silicate tetrahedra arranged in a 2:1 structure with octahedral sheets of aluminum, magnesium, or iron between them. The most familiar members are muscovite (light-colored) and biotite (dark), with other varieties such as phlogopite and lepidolite. They occur in igneous and metamorphic rocks and are mined for industrial use. Common properties include the ability to split into flexible sheets, a relatively low hardness, and a high dielectric strength, making micas useful in electrical insulation, as fillers in paints and plastics, and in cosmetics as mica powder.
