Metsäkadolla refers to a traditional Finnish folk game that combines elements of hide-and-seek with a playful, often humorous chase. The name translates roughly to "forest frog," though the game itself has no direct connection to amphibians. It is commonly played in rural areas, particularly among children and young adults, during summer evenings or festivals.

The game typically involves a group of players, with one designated as the "kadolla" (the seeker). The kadolla closes their eyes and counts aloud while the others scatter into the surrounding forest or fields. Once the counting ends, the kadolla opens their eyes and attempts to locate the hidden players by listening for sounds, such as footsteps or rustling leaves. The goal is to tag as many players as possible before they can return to a designated safe area.

Metsäkadolla often incorporates improvisation and storytelling, as the kadolla may pretend to be an animal, ghost, or other fantastical creature to add excitement. Players sometimes use creative disguises or props to evade capture.
