MerleFest
MerleFest is an annual music festival held in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. It is one of the nation's premier celebrations of traditional music, featuring bluegrass, folk, Americana, blues, and country music. The festival was founded in 1988 by Bill and Jim Clark, and is dedicated to the memory of Merle Watson, the father of the late folk musician Doc Watson. Doc Watson himself was a prominent performer at the festival until his passing in 2012.
