Etymology and usage: The word appears to combine elements meaning “additional” or “further” with “klage” (complaint/appeal) in Scandinavian languages, though spellings and local usage differ. In practice, many jurisdictions prefer the more common term klage, överklagning, or an equivalent.

Procedure: Typical requirements include a deadline for filing (often a few weeks to months after the decision), a description of the decision being challenged, the grounds for appeal, and supporting documents.
