Megtudom

Grammatical formation and function: the prefix meg- indicates completion or attainment, and tud means “to know” or “to be able.” The suffix -om marks first-person singular. In practice, megtudom is typically followed by an infinitive or a clause, signaling that the speaker can accomplish the cited task or obtain the requested information. For example, meg tudom mondani means “I can tell you”; meg tudom oldani means “I can solve/handle it.”

Usage notes: megtudom is used in both formal and informal contexts to assert capability in the near term or in a specific situation. It is common in direct speech, customer interactions, and informational exchanges. In future contexts, Hungarian typically uses meg fogom tudni to express “I will be able to …,” as in meg fogom tudni mondani (“I will be able to tell you”).
