Marknadsjämvikten, also known as market equilibrium, is a fundamental concept in economics that describes the point at which the quantity demanded of a good or service equals the quantity supplied. This balance occurs at the market price, which is the price at which the market is in equilibrium. At this point, there is no excess demand or supply, and all participants in the market are satisfied with the price and quantity they are receiving.

The equilibrium price is determined by the intersection of the demand curve and the supply curve on a graph. The demand curve shows the relationship between the price of a good and the quantity demanded, while the supply curve shows the relationship between the price and the quantity supplied. When the price is above the equilibrium price, there is an excess supply, and when the price is below the equilibrium price, there is an excess demand.
