Manifestacije

Manifestacije is a term used in several South Slavic languages including Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian. It is the plural of manifestation (manifestacija) and refers to acts of appearing or displaying something, as well as events and indications arising in various contexts. The word shares etymology with Latin manifestus through early Slavic languages, and in everyday use it denotes both observable signs and public events.

In general usage, manifestacije describe visible signs or occurrences that reveal a process or condition. For example, the manifestacije of cultural renewal might include festivals, exhibitions and performances.

In medicine, manifestacije refer to the clinical signs and symptoms by which a disease or condition is observed in a patient. These include objective findings such as rashes or fever and subjective experiences such as pain.

In sociology and political science, manifestacije often means organized public gatherings, demonstrations or protests.

In philosophy or theology, manifestation denotes the revealing or becoming visible of a principle, deity, or truth.

Etymologically, manifestacije is built from manifestacija, which stresses the presentation or emergence of something that was not immediately apparent.
