Mandelbrota

Mandelbrota is a fictional generalization of the Mandelbrot set used in conceptual discussions of complex dynamics. It is not a standard mathematical term, but it appears in educational materials and digital-art exercises to illustrate how adding parameters can change stability regions in the complex plane.

One proposed formulation defines a two-parameter family of quadratic maps f_{c,t}(z) = z^2 + c + t z, with z in the complex numbers and parameters c,t in C. For a fixed pair (c,t), iterate z_{n+1} = f_{c,t}(z_n) with z_0 = 0. The Mandelbrota consists of all (c,t) for which the sequence {z_n} remains bounded.

When t is real, the Mandelbrota is visualized as a region in the (c,t) plane. The boundary is highly fractal, and images are typically colored by the escape time or other dynamical measures, producing intricate, self-similar shapes.

Like the Mandelbrot set, the Mandelbrota exhibits self-similarity and a rich boundary structure. It features a main body with smaller satellites that resemble miniature Mandelbrot-like structures, and its exact form depends on the chosen parameterization and projection.
