Malomirs

Malomirs is a fictional plant species originating from the planet Xylos in the K'tharr system. It is a bioluminescent flora, emitting a soft, pulsating blue light during Xylos's long nights. The plant typically grows in clusters in damp, shaded areas, often near underground water sources. Its leaves are broad and waxy, designed to absorb moisture efficiently from the humid Xylosian atmosphere.

The most distinctive feature of the Malomirs is its seed pods. These pods are spherical and contain a viscous, gelatinous substance that houses the plant's reproductive cells. When mature, the pods detach from the main plant and, due to their slight buoyancy, are carried by gentle air currents or water flow. Xylosian fauna have been observed to consume these seed pods, inadvertently aiding in the dispersal of Malomirs seeds.

Ecologically, Malomirs play a role in maintaining the ambient humidity levels in their microhabitats. The bioluminescence is thought to attract small nocturnal insects, which in turn may serve as a food source for other Xylosian organisms, creating a localized food web.
