Makgadikgadi
Makgadikgadi refers to a vast system of salt pans in north-central Botswana, within the Kalahari Desert. It lies in the basin of the ancient Lake Makgadikgadi and is among the world's largest salt flats, spanning a large area across the central region of the country. The landscape is mostly flat and white with salt crusts, and seasonal watercourses can create shallow lakes after rains.
