Mainset
Mainset refers to the primary block of training performed by an athlete or individual during a workout session. It represents the most significant portion of the workout, focusing on the main goals or physiological adaptations the individual is aiming for. For example, in swimming, the mainset might be a series of repetitions of a specific distance and intensity designed to improve aerobic capacity or speed. In strength training, the mainset would typically involve the primary compound exercises like squats, deadlifts, or bench presses, performed for a prescribed number of sets and repetitions.
The structure of a workout generally includes a warm-up, a mainset, and a cool-down. The warm-up prepares
