MRIképalkotó
MRIképalkotó is a term that refers to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in Hungarian. MRI is a medical imaging technique that uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to generate detailed images of the organs and tissues within the body. It is a non-invasive procedure and does not involve ionizing radiation, unlike X-rays or CT scans. The technology relies on the principle of nuclear magnetic resonance, where the nuclei of atoms within the body, particularly hydrogen atoms, align with the strong magnetic field. Radiofrequency pulses are then applied, which disrupt this alignment. As the nuclei realign, they emit radio signals that are detected by the MRI scanner. These signals are then processed by a computer to create cross-sectional images. MRI is widely used for diagnosing a variety of conditions, including tumors, injuries to soft tissues like ligaments and tendons, diseases of the brain and spinal cord, and abnormalities of internal organs. The contrast and detail achieved with MRI often make it superior to other imaging modalities for certain applications. Different MRI sequences can be employed to highlight specific tissues or pathologies, and contrast agents can be administered intravenously to further enhance image clarity.
