MODOK
MODOK, which stands for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing, is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, first appearing in *Tales of Suspense* #93 in September 1967. MODOK was originally George Tarleton, a technician who underwent forced genetic augmentation to become the leader of Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM). This process gave him a massive, enlarged head containing a powerful brain capable of immense psionic and telekinetic abilities, but also left him with a physically frail, sedentary body that requires a hovering, levitating throne for mobility. His primary motivation is usually global domination and the destruction of his enemies, particularly superheroes like Captain America. MODOK's distinctive appearance, with his giant head and technological apparatus, has made him a memorable and iconic villain. Over the years, he has been a recurring antagonist, leading AIM in various schemes and often clashing with a wide range of Marvel characters. His origin has been retconned and explored in different storylines, sometimes depicting him as a tragic figure warped by his transformation, and other times as a purely megalomaniacal threat.
