Lõikeköitmine, also known as cut binding or French binding, is a bookbinding technique. It is characterized by the use of a single, continuous piece of material for the covering of the book. This material, often paper, cloth, or leather, is folded around the text block and then adhered to the spine. The edges of the cover material are then trimmed flush with the text block, creating a clean and neat finish. This method differs from case binding, where the cover is constructed separately and then attached to the text block.

The process of lõikeköitmine typically involves preparing the text block, which is usually sewn or glued together. The cover material is then cut to size, with allowances for the spine and the fore-edges. The text block is placed onto the cover material, and the material is folded around it. Adhesive is applied to the spine of the text block and the corresponding area of the cover material.
