Låsringstänger

Låsringstänger, also known as snap ring pliers or circlip pliers, are specialized hand tools designed for installing and removing internal and external retaining rings, commonly referred to as snap rings or circlips. These rings are essential fasteners used in many mechanical assemblies to prevent axial movement of components on shafts or within bores. Låsringstänger are crucial for efficiently and safely handling these often springy and potentially hazardous components.

There are two primary types of låsringstänger: those for internal rings and those for external rings. Internal låsringstänger are designed to spread open an internal retaining ring within a bore. They typically have tips that expand outwards. External låsringstänger, conversely, are used to compress an external retaining ring on a shaft, allowing it to be inserted or removed from a groove. Their tips are designed to move inwards. Within these categories, further variations exist based on the angle of the tips (straight or angled) and the size of the retaining rings they are intended to service.

The jaws or tips of låsringstänger are precisely engineered to grip the holes or tabs present on the retaining rings. Using the correct type and size of låsringstänger is vital to avoid damaging the retaining ring, the component it secures, or the tool itself.
