Lågtrycksvärden refer to readings of atmospheric pressure that are below the average or standard pressure. In meteorology, low-pressure systems are areas where the atmospheric pressure is relatively lower than the surrounding regions. These systems are often associated with unsettled weather conditions, such as clouds, precipitation, and wind. When weather maps display isobars, which are lines connecting points of equal atmospheric pressure, areas with lower pressure values are indicated by these lines being closer together and often labeled with an "L" for low.

The specific value considered "low" can be relative to geographical location and altitude. However, generally speaking, atmospheric pressure decreases as altitude increases. Standard sea-level atmospheric pressure is approximately 1013.25 hectopascals (hPa) or millibars (mb). Values significantly below this, such as below 1000 hPa, are typically indicative of a low-pressure system. The intensity of a low-pressure system is often judged by how far its central pressure deviates from the surrounding higher pressure. The lower the central pressure, the stronger the low and the more vigorous the associated weather is likely to be.

The movement and development of low-pressure systems are key drivers of weather patterns in many parts of the world. Their interaction with high-pressure systems, areas of higher atmospheric pressure, creates pressure gradients that generate winds.
