Lämpötilamittausanturi, known in English as a temperature sensor, is a device that measures temperature. They work by converting a physical property that changes with temperature into an electrical signal that can be read and interpreted.

There are several common types of temperature sensors. Thermocouples are formed by joining two dissimilar metals. For instance, thermocouples are often used in high-temperature applications, while RTDs are favored for their accuracy and stability at moderate temperatures. Thermistors are commonly found in applications where rapid response and high sensitivity are needed, such as in medical devices and electronic temperature control systems. Infrared sensors are ideal for measuring the temperature of moving objects, hazardous materials, or surfaces that are difficult to access.
