Lämpökytkimiä

Lämpökytkin, or thermal switch, is a temperature-sensitive electrical switch designed to open or close a circuit when a specific temperature is reached. These devices are crucial components in a wide range of applications for controlling temperature and preventing overheating.

The most common type of lämpökytkin utilizes a bimetallic strip. This strip is composed of two different metals with varying thermal expansion coefficients. As the temperature changes, one metal expands more than the other, causing the strip to bend. This bending action can be engineered to push against contacts, opening or closing an electrical circuit.

Another common mechanism involves a gas-filled bellows or a liquid-filled capsule. When heated, the gas or liquid expands, increasing pressure and causing the bellows to expand or the capsule to deform. This movement then actuates a switch mechanism.
