Format and schema

Lysoutput centers on a schema-driven approach. Each output payload includes a header with metadata such as version, schema identifier, timestamp, and provenance information, followed by a data payload that conforms to a defined lysoutput schema. The payload can be encoded in multiple representations, typically JSON for readability, with options for compact binary encodings in performance-critical contexts. Schemas describe field names, data types, and optional constraints, enabling validation and automated downstream processing.

Usage and interoperability

Producers emit lysoutput from processing modules, tests, or orchestration tools, tagging results with the appropriate schema. Consumers—whether dashboards, analytics services, or other pipeline stages—parse, validate, and transform lysoutput into domain-specific representations. The schema-versioning mechanism supports backward compatibility, allowing evolving pipelines to introduce new fields without breaking existing components.
