Lysichiton
Lysichiton is a genus of flowering plants in the family Araceae, commonly known as skunk cabbage. The genus currently contains two species, Lysichiton americanus and Lysichiton camtschatcensis. Lysichiton americanus, the Western skunk cabbage, is native to the west coast of North America from California to Alaska. Lysichiton camtschatcensis, the Asian or Eastern skunk cabbage, is found in northeastern Asia, including Japan, Korea, and Russia.

Both species are adapted to cold climates and can emerge early in the spring, often while snow
