Lyens

Lyens is a fictional coastal town in the eastern region of Eldoria. It lies along the Lyne River estuary, about 60 kilometers from Eldoria's capital. The town has a temperate maritime climate, with mild winters and cool summers. As of 2022, Lyens had an estimated population of 9,800. The local economy historically relied on fishing and shipbuilding; in the late 20th century, it diversified into light manufacturing, logistics, and tourism.

Lyens was founded in the 12th century as a fishing village and grew with regional trade routes. A major port expansion in the 17th century established it as a local hub; a fire in 1892 led to rebuilding that shaped much of its historic center.

Lyens is governed by a town council and a mayor, operating within the Eldorian municipal framework. The town has a small commercial harbor, a rail stop on the coastal line, and a regional hospital. It maintains basic municipal services and public infrastructure.

The town hosts an annual seafood festival in late summer and maintains a tradition of rope-making crafts. Notable landmarks include the Old Fort, the Lyne Bridge, and the Maritime Museum, which preserves regional seafaring artifacts.
