Luvuiksi

Luvuiksi is a constructed language (conlang) created for linguistic exploration and worldbuilding. It is designed to study agglutinative morphology, vowel harmony, and a consistent phonotactic system, without claiming to reflect any natural language.

Origins and design: The language emerged in the early 21st century within online conlang communities. Its developers aimed for a transparent morphological structure and an expressive lexicon for describing abstract concepts and everyday life.

Phonology and writing: Luvuiksi has five vowel phonemes (a, e, i, o, u) with vowel harmony that spreads through suffixes based on the stem’s last vowel. The consonant system includes stops, nasals, fricatives, and approximants. The writing system is Latin-based, using diacritics to mark vowel harmony and stress accents; stress is typically on the penultimate syllable.

Grammar: The language is primarily agglutinative with postpositional marking. Basic word order is subject–object–verb (SOV). Nouns take case/postpositional suffixes; adjectives usually follow nouns. Verbs carry suffixes for tense, aspect, mood, and agreement with the subject; person agreement is optional and often context-driven.

Usage and status: Luvuiksi has no native speaker community and exists mainly in online forums, dictionaries, and sample texts produced by enthusiasts. It is used for language-learning practice, fictional worldbuilding, and linguistic experimentation.
