Lusail
Lusail is a planned city in Qatar, located on the coast north of Doha in the Al Daayen municipality. It is one of the country’s largest development projects and is intended to become a major urban center linking Doha with the northern coast.
The project was announced in 2004 and developed by Qatari Diar. Construction began in the mid-2000s and
Lusail is organized into districts such as the Marina District along the waterfront and the Qetaifan Island
Notable landmarks include Lusail Stadium, an 80,000-seat venue built to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup final,
Transportation and connectivity: The city is planned to be linked to Doha by an expanded highway network
Status and outlook: Several areas have opened to residents and visitors, while development continues in phases.
