For instance, the European Union's organic logo, a leaf-like symbol made of stars, is widely recognized across member states. In the United States, the USDA Organic seal signifies that a product contains at least 95% organic ingredients and has been produced without GMOs or prohibited substances. Other countries have their own national marks, such as Bio Suisse in Switzerland or JAS in Japan.

The presence of an organic mark on a product allows consumers to make informed purchasing decisions, often choosing these products for perceived health benefits, environmental sustainability, and ethical considerations. Certification processes involve rigorous inspections and audits of farms and processing facilities to ensure compliance with established organic regulations.
