Lukutaitoihin

Lukutaitoihin is the illative plural form of lukutaito, a Finnish noun meaning literacy—the ability to read and write, and to understand written texts. The illative case suffix -iin expresses direction toward or inclusion in something, so lukutaitoihin can be used to talk about entering into or addressing several literacy domains or programs.

In usage, lukutaitoihin often appears in policy language or educational discourse when enumerating multiple literacies as targets of development, for example lukutaitoihin liittyvät taidot (skills related to literacies) or panostukset lukutaitoihin (investments in literacy).
