Lukukirjoituspää

Lukukirjoituspää refers to a Finnish term that can be translated as "reading-writing head" or "reading and writing head." In the context of technology, it generally describes a component responsible for both reading data from and writing data to a storage medium. This concept is most commonly associated with older forms of data storage, such as magnetic tape drives and floppy disk drives.

A lukukirjoituspää typically comprises a small magnetic coil. When reading, the movement of the magnetic medium across the head induces a current in the coil, which is then interpreted as data.
