Louovice

Louovice is a village and municipality in the Nordmark region of Veridia. It is situated on the northern shore of Lake Lente, about 60 kilometers north of Veridia City. The municipality covers an area of 24.3 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 1,900 as of 2023. The local government is headed by a mayor and a municipal council.

The area was settled in prehistoric times with later medieval development. The first documented mention of Louovice dates to the 13th century, when a small fort was built to oversee river crossings. Agriculture and fisheries were the main economic activities for much of the medieval and early modern periods. The 19th and early 20th centuries saw modest industrialization, followed by postwar modernization and municipal consolidation into the Nordmark district in 1970.

The landscape is composed of rolling fields, mixed forests, and a rocky shoreline along Lake Lente. A regional nature reserve lies to the east, protecting bird habitats and wetland areas.

Services make up the largest share of employment, followed by agriculture and tourism. A light industry park established in the 1990s hosts several small manufacturers and craft businesses.

Louovice is connected by regional roads and has a bus link to nearby towns. The nearest railway station lies in the town of Valencrest, about 15 kilometers away.

The parish church of Saint Helena, dating from the 12th century, stands at the village center. Annual cultural events include a midsummer festival and a lakeside market.

The municipality operates a primary school and a lower secondary school; students attend upper secondary institutions in neighboring towns. The population is predominantly Veridian, with small immigrant and minority communities.
