Loopheads
Loopheads, also known as loophead eels, are a genus of marine eels belonging to the family Synaphobranchidae. They are characterized by their unique, loop-like head structure, which is a distinguishing feature of the genus. Loopheads are found in the Atlantic Ocean, with species ranging from the Gulf of Mexico to the coast of Brazil. They inhabit a variety of marine environments, including coral reefs, seagrass beds, and sandy bottoms, at depths ranging from the intertidal zone to about 100 meters.
