Longyearbreen
Longyearbreen is a glacier located on the island of Spitsbergen in the Svalbard archipelago, Norway. It is situated in the Adventdalen valley, near the settlement of Longyearbyen. The glacier's name is derived from John Longyear, an American businessman who was a principal investor in the Arctic Coal Company, the precursor to the Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulgrube Company, which historically mined coal in the area.
