Londrei

Londrei is a city in the fictional country of Veridia, located on the southern coast of the Veridian Peninsula along the Sobran Sea. It is the administrative capital of the Veridian metropolitan region and functions as a major port and economic center. As of 2023, the city proper has an estimated population of about 780,000, with a wider metropolitan area exceeding 1.2 million. The urban layout combines medieval street patterns in the Old Town with modern districts developed after the mid-20th century.

Londrei began as a medieval trading post and port. It grew through maritime commerce and was designated regional capital in the 1600s. The city underwent extensive reconstruction after a 19th-century earthquake and later integrated into Veridia’s modern administrative framework in the 1950s. Since then it has expanded education, industry, and services.

The port handles cargo and cruise traffic, while manufacturing and logistics clusters support the regional economy. Londrei hosts the University of Veridia and several research institutes, contributing to technology, biosciences, and cultural industries. The city is connected by Londrei International Airport, a seaport, and a metropolitan transit network that includes trams and regional rail links.

The city preserves a historic core with a mix of stone fortifications, neoclassical and modern architecture. Landmarks include the Old Town, the Great Library, and the Horn Lighthouse. Cultural life centers on museums, theaters, and annual festivals.
