Lirathian is a fictional civilization and cultural sphere in a fantasy setting, known for its archipelago of coastal isles in the Lirathian Sea. The term covers both the geographic realm and its inhabitants. The name is traditionally linked to the river Lira and to an old coastal term meaning “people” or “land.”

Geography and climate: The core lands comprise a chain of about sixty isles, with sheltered harbors, limestone cliffs, and coral reefs that shape ship routes. The climate is temperate maritime, with wet winters and warm, dry summers that support terraced agriculture on inland slopes.

Society and culture: Lirathians organize themselves through an interlocking system of guilds and maritime clans.
