Lipidikalvot is a neologism used in theoretical and experimental discussions of lipid-based self-assembly. The term combines lipid- with a suffix suggesting vesicular structures and is used to describe a class of amphiphilic molecules that are proposed to form stable, dynamic assemblies in aqueous environments.

Typically, lipidikalvots are envisioned as molecules with a hydrophobic aliphatic or aromatic tail and a polar or zwitterionic head group. Under suitable conditions, they are expected to organize into bilayer or vesicular architectures, similar to conventional phospholipids, but with tunable properties that respond to changes in concentration, temperature, pH, or ionic strength.
