Liitmatriise

Liitmatriise, often translated as "composite matrices" or "compound matrices," is a concept in linear algebra that deals with the structure and properties of matrices formed by partitioning larger matrices into smaller submatrices. This partitioning allows for a more organized and efficient analysis of complex matrix operations.

A liitmatriis is created by dividing a larger matrix into blocks, typically rectangular or square. These blocks are then treated as individual elements of a new, larger matrix, known as the liitmatriis. For example, a matrix A can be partitioned into four submatrices A11, A12, A21, and A22, forming the liitmatriis:

Operations such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication can be performed on liitmatriise by applying these operations to their corresponding submatrices.
