Ligurias

Ligurias is a plural term that may be used to refer to aspects connected with the Italian region of Liguria, including its people, language, and places. In contemporary usage it is uncommon, but appears in some historical and linguistic texts to denote multiple facets of the Ligurian cultural area.

Geographically, Liguria lies along the northwestern coast of Italy, facing the Ligurian Sea. The region is a narrow strip between the sea and the northern Apennines, stretching from the French border near Ventimiglia toward Tuscany. Demographically, the coastal zone concentrates most inhabitants, with Italian as the official language. Ligurian remains a regional language or set of dialects, with varieties such as Genoese recognized in cultural contexts.
