Ligaasen

Ligaasen is a general term referring to enzymes that catalyze the formation of a new chemical bond by joining two molecules together. This joining process is often coupled with the breakdown of a high-energy phosphate bond, typically from adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The specific type of bond formed can vary, but it commonly involves the creation of carbon-carbon, carbon-oxygen, carbon-nitrogen, or carbon-sulfur bonds.
