Lepattintással

Lepattintással is a Hungarian gerund form meaning “by patting” or “by tapping lightly.” It describes the act of applying a light tapping or patting motion to a surface or material, typically with the hand or a soft tool, in order to settle, flatten, shape, or affix it. The term comes from the verb lepattintani (to pat lightly, to tap) and uses the noun-form suffix -tás; when combined with -sal/-vel in the instrumental sense, it becomes lepattintással.

The use of lepattintással spans several domains. In cooking and food preparation, it can refer to patting meat or other ingredients to an even thickness, or to pressing a filling into pastry or dough so it adheres without air pockets. In crafts and construction, the technique may be used to smooth surfaces, remove gaps or air pockets in putty or plaster, or to settle decorative elements into place without forcing or cutting. In textile work, it can describe lightly patting fabric or adhesive to ensure even contact and adhesion.
