She is introduced as a member of the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE, which opposes the megacorporation Shinra Electric Power Company. Her character is notable for her sharp wit, independence, and occasional moral ambiguity, reflecting the game’s themes of environmentalism and corporate exploitation.

Leopolda’s backstory is tied to the character Cloud Strife, whom she briefly dates in the game.
