Lemoshatóvá

Lemoshatóvá is a Hungarian derivational form used in linguistic and technical contexts to express that something can be washed or can be made washable, i.e., a resulting state of being wash-safe. It is formed from the verb mos (to wash) with affixes that signal possibility and a resulting state.

Morphology and usage: In Hungarian, -ható/-hető marks potential orability, and the -vá/-vé suffixes indicate a resulting state or a infinitive-like form used in phrases describing transformation. Lemoshatóvá can appear in constructions such as lemoshatóvá tehető (can be made washable) or lemoshatóvá válik (it becomes washable). The prefix le- is sometimes part of the base form in compounds, but the essential idea is the addition of the capability and state markers to the verb root.
